Bicycling has been a popular sport and pastime for over a century. They are an outstanding source of exercise, but more importantly, they’re just fun to ride. And since they require only the power of human legs to propel them, they are also the most ecologically friendly form of transportation that is currently available.

Elebikecenter.com is all about the wonderful world of bicycles. We cater to all riders, regardless of their particular style of riding. Mountain bikes, road bikes and hybrids are all welcome here. Our goal is to provide the general public with as much up to date information regarding all types of bikes. We hope that our site will become a useful resource all riders.

Of all the modern types of bicycles, the road bike has the longest history. Originally designed as single gear novelties, they have undergone quite an evolution over the decades. Today’s road bikes have multiple gears, with some having as many as 27, making them easier to pedal nearly anywhere you wish to go. Advances in metallurgy and design have made these bikes ultra-lightweight and aerodynamic.

Mountain bikes are among the most popular bicycles in America. Originally made from modified road bikes, these bicycles have evolved into extremely high-tech off road vehicles. Often using metal alloys such as titanium for the bike frames, along with high-tech suspension and disc braking systems, these bikes are designed to withstand a lot of abuse. Mountain bike wheels are much wider than those for road use in order to provide a maximum level of stability and grip. Specialized mountain bike parts were the first to mass produce the mountain bike, as we know it today.

The hybrid bike and the folding bike are fairly new to the bicycling world. These bikes are primarily designed for the commuter. The hybrids are similar to road bikes, but often use the straight style handlebars and wider wheels from a mountain bike. However, the tires used are generally limited in their tread. The folding bike is a bit of an anomaly. They are unique as they can be easily folded down to the size of a small suitcase, making them much easier to carry on board a commuter bus or train.

Any owner of a bicycle will eventually need to purchase replacement parts for their ride. Bike pedals, bike frames, and other bike parts, as well as accessory items like bike racks can be most easily found through your local bike shop. These businesses are also an excellent resource for repair work, or just general advice on riding. Most places employ experts in the field, and they are more than happy to help you discover new places to ride. They can also help get you in contact with various bicycling clubs that are prevalent in the area.
