Bike FAQs
What kind of bike should I use for city commuting?
Well, that’s really a matter of personal tastes, because any bike can really be used for that purpose. However, there are bikes that are designed specifically for city commuting. Hybrid bikes are common for this application, as they are designed to be comfortable, yet able to withstand the rigors of city riding.
Should I buy carbon fiber wheels for my mountain bike?
Most people would probably say no to this question. Not because there aren’t carbon fiber wheels that are available, but mainly because they tend to be very expensive and most people wouldn’t notice a difference between them and the standard aluminum wheels.
How long has the mountain bike been around?
The mountain bike was first tinkered with during the 1970’s, but these were primarily modified road bikes. It wasn’t until Specialized introduced the Stumpjumper in 1981 that mountain bikes as we know them first appeared.
